Second largest city in Cambodia, Battambang (Khmer: ក្រុងបាត់ដំបង) is the capital city of Battambang province in north western Cambodia and sits astride the Sangkae River. Originally settled in the 11th century by the Khmer Civilization. Images in this galley include the market, the Bamboo Railway, a number of temple grounds and the city itself. It also includes an excursion to the temples, killing fields and bat cave of Phnom Sampeau.
